Natural light portraits have always been something that inspires me the most. There’s a unique, almost magical quality to working with non-professional models—those with limited or no experience prior to the shoot. It’s as though their lack of familiarity with the camera allows for an unfiltered connection, a raw honesty that shines through their expressions and movements.

When I photograph someone, my goal is to capture not just their appearance but their essence—the little quirks, emotions, and subtleties that make them who they are. I strive to create an environment where they feel comfortable enough to let their guard down, allowing their true personality to come across naturally.

I approach editing with a light touch, keeping retouching to a minimum to preserve the integrity of the moment. For me, it’s less about creating a flawless image and more about embracing the imperfections that make each subject unique. Every freckle, stray hair, or fleeting expression tells a story, and it’s in these details that the beauty of authenticity lies.

Natural light has this remarkable ability to sculpt and define, to bring out textures and tones that studio setups often can’t replicate. Whether it’s the golden warmth of a sunset, the diffused softness of an overcast sky, or the dramatic interplay of shadows on a bright afternoon, each lighting scenario adds its own layer of emotion to the image.

Photography, for me, is about connection—both with the subject and with the viewer. It’s about freezing a moment in time, a fragment of their story, and presenting it in the most honest, heartfelt way possible. And there’s something incredibly fulfilling about knowing that through my lens, I’ve preserved not just a face but a feeling.
